After his own personal experience with Leukemia, acclaimed fashion photographer, James Weber, started a non-profit foundation, The Leukemia Needs Foundation, to help those in need. Visit James' blog to read more of his story and to make a donation that will change lives. This Not-for-Profit Foundation was created to financially assist leukemia patients while acutely hospitalized and created by James Weber and Dr. Patrick Fullerton
During the acute phase of the cancer, many patients are unable to meet their financial obligations due to the inability to work, as it was for founding member, James Weber. He was hospitalized for 45 days, and out of work for 90 days. During that time, he had to rely on his family to help with his, "Life Bills". His medical coverage was 100%, but that won't pay rent or any other bill while out of work. The Leukemia Needs Foundation was created for exactly this purpose, to directly fund the leukemia patient so they can meet these obligations while hospitalized.

All of the looks in this photo story are affordable wigs and pieces. It is possible to make a beautiful fashion statement without spending a lot of money. The key is to have your wig cut and fitted by your professional stylist so that it fits your features. While working with James as he photographed these beautiful images of model, Ivanka, I learned about his incredible bravery during a difficult time and was inspired to share his story with others.

Androgenetic alopecia and traumatic alopecia are the most common causes of hair loss in women.
Androgenic alopecia
Hereditary hair thinning, occurs in both men and women.
It is the most common form of alopecia in women.
It can begin as early as in the 20s.
By age 40, 40% of these women have noticeable hair thinning due to this condition.
By age 50, 50% of them have severe signs of hair loss.
When this type of hair loss occurs, women usually do not develop true baldness in the patterns that occur in men, the areas affected are in the temples and the crown of the head, while the front hairline is usually preserved.
Alopecia Areata
Alopecia areata, (2% population)is an autoimune condition where the hair follicles are attacked by a person's own immune system , resulting in the arrest of the hair growth stage. Alopecia areata usually starts with one or more small balding patches on the scalp and can progress to total hair loss.
Traumatic alopecia
Hair loss due to scarring of the scalp area. This form of hair loss frequently occurs in African-American women. Traumatic alopecia is divided into three categories: traction, chemical and follicular alopecia.
