Amazing Opportunity.
Just recently, I was hired for my first makeup job and it was for the COVER of the amazing STYLE SOURCE Magazine. This beautifully published magazine goes to more than 120,000 hair salons world-wide. Designed to be read and enjoyed equally by both salon professionals and their clients, this is a quality publication. Great way to start, huh? Click on the link to see the magazine and read the feature story.

Love what you do.
After 20 plus years of standing on my feet doing hair, can I just tell you how much I lovesitting and doing makeup?  LOL! Seriously, I really do enjoy doing makeup. You know I am always up for learning and advancing my skills. Over the past year I’ve had the honor of having private makeup lessons from Mister Makeup himself, David Maderich. Proving to be extremely rewarding, my hair and makeup work have been published globally in more than FORTY publications.
A "few" of the magazines my work was featured in last year.

Tools of the Trade.
With high resolution digital photography and HD TV, it has become increasingly necessary to use an airbrush to provide a flawless finish.  It so happened on my last trip to NYC, I was staying in the neighborhood of Chelsea where the world famous airbrush makeup company,  Temptu is headquartered. They have a nice showroom and store. So, I marched right over to purchase full arsenal of equipment. Lindsay was great to help me choose all of the necessary items. Fortunately, I qualified for a much appreciated and amazing 30% off.
Here I am at Temptu.
Preparation is essential.
When doing a photo shoot, advanced preparation is an absolute must. It is always better to have more than you need than to need something you left behind. In packing my bags, I tried to think of all the items that would possibly be needed. In addition to your cosmetics, it is important to remember extra items like cleansing cloths, tissues and Q-tips. (Notice my trusty MAC computer, and a cup of Joe are also within reach!)
Check out my table full of yummy stuff!
Be camera ready.
I have to agree with Temptu, “With hi-def technology everywhere you turn -- not just television but cameras, phones, and online photo albums as well -- you never know when you’re going to have your red-carpet moment.”

Working with Steve Elias.

Power Team.
In addition to doing the makeup for the shoot, I also had the pleasure of assisting the extremely talented and multiple NAHA award winning, Steve Elias with the hair. To round out my favorite power team was famed beauty photographer, Roberto Ligresti and wardrobe stylist extraordinaire, David Widjaja

I’ll say it again, “Get a job you love and your will never work a day in your life.”
I would love for you to follow my blog!
