At Sherri’s Salon in Bristol, Virgina, owner Sherri Jessee, a member of the Rusk Creative Team, wanted to expand her salon team’s portfolio with wedding and prom hair so that clients would know that those options were available to them. Sherri’s daughter Amy Lauren, a stylist at the salon, seemed to be the perfect collaborator.
“Seeing that my daughter has the same passion for the beauty industry that I do and is excited about doing photo shoots is very rewarding for me,” Sherri says. “Well in advance of the shoot, we pulled tear sheets from magazines and put together ideas for hair and makeup. The day before the shoot, I practiced on Amy Lauren’s hair, and we took pictures to experiment with different angles, play with the lighting and find out how the camera would capture the texture. There’s so much preparation that goes into a photo shoot! But by the time we arrived at the shoot, it was all planned out.”
